“If there were a mellow pearl and an irregular stone .Which one do you want to be?” I asked this question to my younger brothers this summer. So, what were their answers? “ I’d like to be a pearl.” The first one.

“I’d like to be a pearl, too. The stone has ugly edge and corners.” The second one. I looked at them, said:“I would choose to be a stone.”

From people’s perspective, pearl is nice because of its round shape and luster. Stone is ugly for its sharp corner and normal apperance. But the corner is what can't be neglected by us. With a round shape, a pearl will roll by external force easily. With corners, a stone stand steadily in spite of any factors. We, human beings, should learn to be like a stone with edge and corners. We should keep our own character, be consistent and always stay ture to ourselves. If we were stones, these will be our “corners”.Only we keep them and treasure them can we make our life meaningful.

Throughout China’s history, there were many historical figures lived their whole life like a stone with corners. Bao Zheng, the most honest and upright officail in Song Dynasty. He was impartially and had the ability to distinguish right from wrong. He wanted to be a good official to serve people. He persisted himself, never afraid of power or lost in splender. At last, he was honored by futurity.

as lofty cause. Although he suffered tortune ,he never gave up but devoted himself into writting Historical Record.And so,his work ranked a masterpiece throughout the ages.[t2]

These spirit is needed not only in ancient time,but also in modern soceity. I remembered clearly, I was sent to learn to play the Electric Piano at the age of six. But I was born with short fingers,especially my little finger. I consistented even though someone looked down upon me. At last I got a favorable result in an improtant competition.In my life, when I face temtaptaions, consistence will remind me of finding myself back. When I meet failure and want surrender, persistence will tell me never say die.

yourself”help me stand steadily. nowadays,how many people can't find life purpose in the “money talks” society? How many people give up their original dream and muddle everyday? How many

people just persure quick success and instant benefits and lost themselves? They could have lived life just like a stone with corners, persist and stay true to themselves. Without their “corners”, they were powerless. Tell me why we would stay true and keep our corners? I did not find anything about these.

Laides and gentlemen, to be ourselves is all that we can do. No matter what we’ll meet, just stay true to yourself. As a famous saying said,是famous saying?“There is only one person in this world would like you, and people can like you ecatly as you are.” Being ourselves, there will be a better tomorrow for him ,for you and for me!
